Ali Splitt earns all-GLVC honors

The University of Illinois Springfield volleyball team capped off its best regular season in program history by having a record five players earn all-GLVC honors, including a conference-best four on the first-team. Head coach Trey Salinas was also named the GLVC Coach of the Year, and the Prairie Stars earned the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Team Award.
 
Alyssa Hasler earned first-team honors for the second straight season, becoming the first Prairie Stars player to earn multiple all-GLVC awards. Other first-team awards went to Brianna BushAlli Splitt, and Tiffany WentworthJailyn Borum was selected to the all-GLVC second-team.
 
Splitt, a junior middle blocker, is the GLVC leader with a .352 hitting percentage, and is fourth with 1.11 blocks a set. She is averaging 3.40 points a set, the second-highest mark on the team, and is third with 2.59 kills a set. She has 17 double-figure kills matches and 21 matches with 10 or more points.
 
UIS enters tomorrow's GLVC Tournament with a 24-6 overall record. The Prairie Stars will face Bellarmine in a first-round contest on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in East Peoria, Ill.
